The blood donation camp was organized by the KMC helpline in association with DISHA on the 2nd of September, 2012 at the Regional Advanced Pediatric Care Centre, Wenlock hospital.It commenced with giving away of prizes to the winners of the poster competition. With catchy slogans like “BLOOD IS TO CIRCULATE” AND “IT IS IN YOU TO GIVE” , the camp began with an indomitable spirit to help.
Donors started pouring in from the very beginning. Such enthusiasm and willingness to help in this good cause was a pleasant surprise and a gave a whole new boost to belief in humanity. There were refreshments served after every person had donated and every care was taken to ensure that the donor had not been harmed. All proper standards of hygiene was maintained efficiently.
The response from MCODS, mangalore was overwhelming. Out of a 157 total registrations, there were 60 from MCODS. The donations were stopped at 100 packets though line of donors had not ended.
